Cooking showcase

Sea Salt’s cooking showcase at noon Sept. 1 provides a culinary journey through Spain and Italy. Witness the art of cooking by Chef Josh Zeman while he showcases two dishes: Gambas al Ajillo from Spain with tiger prawns,  roasted garlic and white wine; and Risotto al Nero di Seppia from Italy with cuttlefish, aioli and herb oil.

Football specials

Are you ready for some football? Bokamper’s Sports Bar & Grill locations in Naples and Estero are set for the season. Bokamper’s will be offering new menu items and specials available all day every day beginning Sept. 4.
Some new items include slow-roasted baby back rib, Buffalo chicken tater tots, and a fried green tomato po’boy with pimento cheese, lettuce and remoulade sauce on a toasted hoagie roll. Specialty beverages include strawberry frosé and Hollywood Mango IPA.
Bokamper’s also is rolling out some new food-drink combo specials for football season. A half rack of baby back ribs or 10 wings paired with a 16-ounce Budweiser/Bud Light draft are $14.99. On college football Saturdays, Budweiser/Bud Light drafts are $1 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and pre-game Dos Equis Lager/Dos Equis Amber are five for $20.

Heart-healthy herbs

Labor Day special

Labor Day marks the end of summer, making it the perfect day to spend quality time with family before schedules are jam-packed again. This Labor Day, Sept. 3, families are invited to celebrate the much-needed holiday and enjoy a kids-eat-free special featuring new menu items at Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar locations in Florida.
Families who dine-in at Applebee’s that day will receive up to two free kids’ meals with each adult entrée purchase. Children ages 12 and under can choose any entrée on the Applebee’s kids’ menu, accompanied by their choice of a side dish, and juice, milk, chocolate milk or lemonade. The new kids’ menu items include cheese pizza, chicken quesadilla, grilled chicken fettuccine Alfredo, chicken taco, cheeseburger, apple sauce cup and kids’ orange juice.

Wine dinner

Roy’s Restaurant in Bonita Springs has a wine dinner scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sept. 18 and 19
The four-course dinner, $79 per guest, will feature wines from Chimney Rock Winery and Markham Vineyards. Roy’s chef has created a special menu with each course paired to highlight the intricacies of each dish and the unique characteristics of each wine.
